Reception workshop and trip to the Park.
On Friday, an actor named Fleur from Perform for schools visited our Reception classes. The children went out in groups of 20 (10 from each class). The workshops followed a story line of a clown that had lost its smile. The children went on a journey to help the clown find its smile. The children also came up with ways to help the clown smile and laugh. The children all thoroughly enjoyed it and are still re-enacting and talking about it now.
The workshops are designed to build the children's confidence, grow their communication skills and help them with concentration. Within the sessions they built on the children's imaginative skills through games and improvisation and encouraged confident speaking and good listening using rhyme and poetry.
On Wednesday the children visited the Park. Despite the rather chilly weather, they had a lovely time and played some great games.
