As many of you are aware the school is awaiting closure. During this uncertain time we are operating as normal until informed otherwise. If your family have chosen to self isolate we have created a list of things for them to do at home to keep some structure. I will provide you with a list of things we would have been studying over the next few weeks. Also Twinkl, a website we use for resourcing, have provided parents with a free login which I will copy below. You can type in for example ' Year 2 fractions' and it will provide you with worksheets and activities that are suitable for your child.

Setting this up is really easy to do - go to and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS

Home learning ideas for the week beginning Monday 30th March

  • Please find below suggested handwriting and spelling activities for each day of the week.
  • The focus of the maths learning this week could be addition and subtraction so we have selected some activities to help you with this.
  • The theme of English this week could be writing story settings and adventure stories. We hope the resources listed below will be helpful as a starting point.
  • The topic learning theme this week could be recycling and we have selected some activities that may be useful for this too.
  • Please do not feel under any pressure to complete all of the activities or in any particular order. We have provided them to offer an optional starting point for learning but please do use them as flexibly as you like! The list of websites above would be a great help in supporting the learning we are suggesting for this week. Please don't hesitate to get in touch by email if you have any further questions.

Further ideas on how you support your child's learning at home:

  • Explore the structures of script writing and how to write a script (stage directions etc).
  • Investigate fractions of shape and number, focusing on halves, quarters and thirds.
  • Practise fluent recall of number facts including times tables, number bonds to 10 an 20, addition and subtraction within 20, place value, division by 5,2 and 10 and word problems and reasoning.
  • Research climate change and the issues with the planet at present. You could create posters or reports.
  • Create hedgehog hideaways using natural materials.
