Chess Tournament
On Monday, 4 Year 6 boys, Tom, Percy, Ben and Rowan took part in the inaugural National Chess tournament with the first round held at Bristol Grammar School. This was a team event where each player had 10 minutes, games were played using a chess clock, adjudicators refereed the games and all four results contributed to an overall team score. Sefton Park played Redhill Knights A, Sidcott B, St Hugh's Oxford and Westbuy Park B. The Team won 1, drew 2 and lost 1 and came a creditable 17th out of 32 teams. They played well, supported each other and the opponents and had a great afternoon of chess.
