At Sefton Park Infant and Junior schools we recognise the importance of providing a varied range of provision in which challenges are embraced and learning is celebrated. Children are given equal opportunities to participate in a wide range of sports to ensure a lifelong love of physical activity and an understanding of the importance of physical wellbeing.
Confidence: We endeavour to provide positive experiences in PE. Children are celebrated not just for success but also for effort. We are able to provide a wide range of physical activities in which children work in team and individual challenges and in both co-operative and competitive scenarios. In doing this, children are able to build resilience and learn to cope with success and failure in a positive environment whilst developing integral teamwork and communication skills.
Creativity: Our PE lessons follow an exciting and diverse PE curriculum in which children take part in a wide range of sports and physical activities. Team sports are a fantastic way for children to express their creativity through the development of teamwork and problem-solving skills. More individual sports such as dance or gymnastics also ensure that children are able to develop a better understanding of themselves and the world around them.
Curiosity: We listen to the children and are able to provide a wide range of extracurricular opportunities in which children can follow their own interests. By engaging with children’s curiosity, we provide well-rounded provision where all children are supported and are able to flourish in any sport that they wish to explore.
