In partnership with the Gloucester Road Business Improvement District, several of the local Gloucester Road traders are hosting a Post Box to the North Pole during December, to help children post their letters to Father Christmas.
Seven local primary schools were invited to decorate a post box. At Sefton Park, Year 2 children in Oak class enjoyed decorating their post box on a wintery theme, complete with handmade snowflakes, as well as creating a poster to promote the scheme.
“It was hard work but fun”, observed one child, while another commented “I hope children feel happy when they use our post box for their letters”. “We used team work to get it finished”, added their classmate, “and we decorated it with snowflakes; now I make them every day!”
From 1 December to 23 December 2017 children can use these colourful post boxes to post their letters to Santa. The Sefton Park Post Box will be situated in Bishopston Library on the Gloucester Road during this time.
“We very much enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit”, said Hannah Riddiford, Oak class teacher, “and we hope that our post box spreads a little joy in the community this Christmas!”
On 23 December, two lucky letters will be drawn from each post box before being forwarded to the North Pole, and the authors of those letters will receive a little something special. Make sure you include your contact details on your letter so that Santa knows where to find you!
