Japanese club has been a big hit this term! We are nearly at the end of our 10 week free taster club for years 5 and 6 and this week the children used special Japanese calligraphy brushes to write the words they had chosen. The children have been learning Japanese language, calligraphy, origami and lots of cultural information, it has been really interesting.
Our teacher Hanae showed us a video made by children from her local school in Japan and then we recorded a reply and sent it to them to tell them about life in our country.
The 10 free taster sessions for years 3 and 4 will start after the Easter holidays. Please see your child’s teacher for a form this week if your child would like to attend.
This free after school club has been funded thanks to a generous grant from the Japan Foundation. For more information on their work you can visit https://www.jpf.org.uk
