For the 3 weeks that all children have been in school, Syreeta Collier and her colleague Christina have been running Forest School on a Friday morning. Banyan class and Reception children have been in the Nursery garden making the most of the great outdoor space available to them.
For the first two weeks, Forest school build STEM into the sessions entitled " Survival school". Each child made a gravity fed water filter to take home. They were surprisingly effective and the children were able to compare their filters and evaluate which ones worked better and why. They all had a go at making a flame with a fire steel and built shelters to keep dry.
Last week we put on an Easter themed session. The children had an egg hunt, they made nature egg art and we went on a bug safari to search for invertebrate eggs.
We hope you enjoy some of the photos evidencing their fabulous work.
